“Although two thirds of our planet is water, we face an acute water shortage. The water crisis is the most pervasive , most severe, and most invisible dimension of the ecological devastation of the earth.”
-Vandana Shiva
Vision:
To ensure that every person, regardless of location or circumstance, has access to life’s essential resources—starting with clean and sustainable water, empowering communities to thrive in a healthier and more self-sufficient world.
Mission:
At Let’s Dig Wells, we are dedicated to providing safe, clean drinking water to underserved communities. Through clean water research, the construction of new wells, restoration of old wells, and education on well maintenance, we aim to create long-term solutions that transform lives, increase health, and foster self-reliance.
These are let’s Dig Wells 4 focuses
Through clean water research, we aim to identify the most effective, sustainable, and innovative methods to ensure communities have access to clean and safe drinking water. This involves understanding local water sources, assessing contamination risks, and developing water purification solutions that are both affordable and accessible. Our research helps us adapt our efforts to the specific needs of each community, ensuring that the water we provide is not only abundant but also safe for long-term use.
The construction of new wells is at the heart of our mission, bringing clean water directly to communities that currently lack access to this essential resource. By drilling and installing wells, we empower entire communities to improve their health, sanitation, and overall well-being. Each well we construct is built to last, providing a reliable source of clean water for many years, reducing the need for long journeys to collect water.
Restoration of old wells and boreholes is equally critical, as many communities rely on outdated or malfunctioning water systems. We focus on repairing and restoring these neglected resources, bringing them back to full functionality. This approach is both cost-effective and sustainable, as it revitalizes existing infrastructure, maximizing its potential to serve the community once again.
Education on well maintenance ensures that communities have the knowledge and skills needed to care for their wells long after our work is done. By teaching local residents how to maintain, clean, and repair their wells, we foster self-reliance and sustainability. This empowers communities to safeguard their water supplies for future generations, preventing breakdowns and ensuring continued access to clean water.
“Sometimes we don't face what's going on in our world, be it a water crisis or an earth crisis, because it's a little too scary and painful. Just like we don't want to face the parts of ourselves that are a little too uncomfortable or painful. We've gotta face both and love both so that we can heal both.”

At Let’s Dig Wells, there is no middleman.
Unlike many large, well-known organizations where donations are filtered through layers of administration, with shares taken out before reaching those in need, every dollar you donate goes directly to one of our four main focuses. Located, registered, and actively operating in Nigeria, Africa, we ensure that your contribution has a direct and meaningful impact. By cutting out the middleman, your generosity goes further, allowing us to do more for those who need it most.
You might ask, “Why Nigeria?” Isn’t Nigeria a country riddled with corruption? Yes, like every nation, Nigeria faces its share of challenges, including corruption. But at Let’s Dig Wells, we believe in the goodness of people. We believe that there are extraordinary individuals committed to change, and we choose to work with them to make the world a better place. For us, that journey begins here at home. Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa, with over 200 million people. Shockingly, 70% of this population lacks access to clean, safe drinking water. Every year, approximately 1 million Nigerians die from consuming contaminated water.
We can’t wait for others to step in. We must start here—addressing the desperate need for clean water in Nigeria—and then expand our efforts to other regions across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and beyond. Together, we can change lives, one well at a time.
